High-Precision Near-Infrared Photometry of a Large Sample of Bright Stars Visible from the Northern Hemisphere We present the results of 8 yr of infrared photometric monitoring of alarge sample of stars visible from Teide Observatory (Tenerife, CanaryIslands). The final archive is made up of 10,949 photometric measuresthrough a standard InSb single-channel photometer system, principally inJHK, although some stars have measures in L'. The core of this list ofstars is the standard-star list developed for the Carlos SánchezTelescope. A total of 298 stars have been observed on at least twooccasions on a system carefully linked to the zero point defined byVega. We present high-precision photometry for these stars. The medianuncertainty in magnitude for stars with a minimum of four observationsand thus reliable statistics ranges from 0.0038 mag in J to 0.0033 magin K. Many of these stars are faint enough to be observable with arraydetectors (42 are K>8) and thus to permit a linkage of the bright andfaint infrared photometric systems. We also present photometry of anadditional 25 stars for which the original measures are no longeravailable, plus photometry in L' and/or M of 36 stars from the mainlist. We calculate the mean infrared colors of main-sequence stars fromA0 V to K5 V and show that the locus of the H-K color is linearlycorrelated with J-H. The rms dispersion in the correlation between J-Hand H-K is 0.0073 mag. We use the relationship to interpolate colors forall subclasses from A0 V to K5 V. We find that K and M main-sequence andgiant stars can be separated on the color-color diagram withhigh-precision near-infrared photometry and thus that photometry canallow us to identify potential mistakes in luminosity classclassification.

Catalogue of H-alpha emission stars in the Northern Milky Way The ``Catalogue of Stars in the Northern Milky Way Having H-alpha inEmission" appears in Abhandlungen aus der Hamburger Sternwarte, Band XIin the year 1997. It contains 4174 stars, range {32degr <= l() II< 214degr , -10degr < b() II < +10degr } having the Hαline in emission. HBH stars and stars of further 99 lists taken from theliterature till the end of 1994 were included in the catalogue. We givethe cross-identification of stars from all lists used. The catalogue isalso available in the Centre de Données, Strasbourg ftp130.79.128.5 or http://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr and at the HamburgObservatory via internet.

On the confinement of one-armed oscillations in discs of Be stars. We discuss the effects due to the rotational deformation and theoptically-thin line force on the confinement of one-armed oscillationsin the inner part of Be-star discs. The period of these oscillations isidentified with the observed V/R variations in Balmer emission lines. Wetake into account the effect of rotation by including the quadrupolecontribution to the potential around the rotationally-distorted centralstar. For the radiative force due to an ensemble of optically thinlines, we adopt the parametric form proposed by Chen & Marlborough(1994ApJ...427.1005C). The disc is assumed to be isothermal. Based onthese assumptions, we examine the linear, one-armed eigenmodes confinedto the inner part of the disc. Our study strongly suggests that themechanism that causes the confinement of one-armed oscillations inearly-type Be stars is different from that in late-type Be stars. Inlate-type Be stars, the confinement occurs because of the deviation fromthe point-mass potential around the rotationally deformed star. On thispoint, we confirm the conclusions obtained by Papaloizou et al.(1992A&A...265L..45P). In early-type Be stars, however, it is theweak-line force that mainly contributes to the confinement. Therotational effect plays a much smaller role for these stars. The periodof the eigenmode confined to the disc depends sensitively on the effectby rotation or radiation. This sensitiveness, together with the range ofthe period of observed V/R variations, places rather narrow constraintson the parameters characterizing these effects. We compare our resultswith observed V/R properties, for which a list of 53 stars has beencompiled.

Vitesses radiales. Catalogue WEB: Wilson Evans Batten. Subtittle: Radial velocities: The Wilson-Evans-Batten catalogue. We give a common version of the two catalogues of Mean Radial Velocitiesby Wilson (1963) and Evans (1978) to which we have added the catalogueof spectroscopic binary systems (Batten et al. 1989). For each star, when possible, we give: 1) an acronym to enter SIMBAD (Set ofIdentifications Measurements and Bibliography for Astronomical Data) ofthe CDS (Centre de Donnees Astronomiques de Strasbourg). 2) the numberHIC of the HIPPARCOS catalogue (Turon 1992). 3) the CCDM number(Catalogue des Composantes des etoiles Doubles et Multiples) byDommanget & Nys (1994). For the cluster stars, a precise study hasbeen done, on the identificator numbers. Numerous remarks point out theproblems we have had to deal with.

A southern Be star survey - Spectra and envelope radii We describe the hydrogen line spectra of 63 southern Be stars, obtainedat ESO, Chile, in one observational run in August 1978. The spectra wererecorded on photographic plates. We also provide the outer radii of theline emission forming region for a number of stars, based upon theemission peak separation of the H4 and H5 lines. Average values soobtained are in good agreement with other determinations based upon asmaller number of objects.

Spectral reclassification of some Be stars using Delta-Q method The way in which the new defined value Delta-Q can play a role in thespectral reclassification of Be stars is shown by means of aninvestigation of 56 Be stars. A general survey carried out in order toobtain spectral subclasses or U, B, V values for these stars ispresented. The suggested Delta-Q method was found to be very helpful inchoosing the correct spectral subclass from among many subclassesassigned for the same star, and hence, the reclassification for thisstar.

Catalog of O-B stars observed with Tokyo Meridian Circle A catalog of the O-B stars, selected from 'Blaauw-Parenago' list andRubin's catalog, has been compiled on the FK4 system by the observationsmade with Gautier 8-inch Meridian Circle at the Tokyo AstronomicalObservatory during the period, 1971 to 1979. It contains 1059 stars andwas compiled for the future establishment of high precision propermotions of O-B stars.
