Radial velocities. Measurements of 2800 B2-F5 stars for HIPPARCOS
Radial velocities have been determined for a sample of 2930 B2-F5 stars,95% observed by the Hipparcos satellite in the north hemisphere and 80%without reliable radial velocity up to now. Observations were obtainedat the Observatoire de Haute Provence with a dispersion of 80Ä,mm(-1) with the aim of studying stellar and galactic dynamics.Radial velocities have been measured by correlation with templates ofthe same spectral class. The mean obtained precision is 3.0 km s(-1)with three observations. A new MK spectral classification is estimatedfor all stars. Based on observations made at the Haute ProvenceObservatory, France and on data from The Hipparcos Catalogue, ESA.Tables 4, 5 and 6 are only available in electronic form at the CDS viaanonymous ftp to cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr or viahttp://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/Abstract.htm

Galactic clusters with associated Cepheid variables. III - NGC 1647 and SZ Tauri
Observational data and analysis are used to argue that the Cepheid Z Tauis an outlying member of the open cluster NGC 1647. The spatialcoincidence of the Cepheid with the cluster corona, as well ascoincidences in radial velocity, proper motion, and age with clustermembers, present a convincing case for cluster membership, which is alsosupported by independent estimates for the mean radius of SZ Tau. Theevidence presented by the derived luminosity of the Cepheid and itslight curve strongly indicates that SZ Tau is pulsating in the firstovertone, rather than fundamental, mode.

Space reddenings for six Cepheid variables
Color excesses are derived for six galactic Cepheids from reddeningsfound for neighboring stars which seem likely to be physicallyassociated with each variable. The Cepheids studied are: SU Cas, whichis associated with a dust complex and R association; Zeta Gem and AlphaUMi, which have F dwarfs as close companions; BB Sgr and SZ Tau, whichlie in the coronal regions of the clusters Collinder 394 and NGC 1647,respectively; and SV Vul, which is involved in an older region of theassociation Vul OB1. The derived reddenings are in good agreement withother, independent, estimates from the literature.

Interstellar extinction in the Taurus dark clouds. II
The results of photoelectric photometry of 89 stars in the Vilniusseven-color system in the area of the Taurus dark clouds withcoordinates (1950) 4h16m-4h33m, +16 deg-+20 deg are presented.Photometric spectral types, absolute magnitudes, color excesses, interstellar extinctions and distances of the stars are determined. Thedistance of the dark nebula is found to be 140 pc and is in goodagreement with the distance determined by Straizys and Meistas (1980)for the dark nebula Khavtassi 286, 278. The average extinction in theinvestigated area is of the order of 1.4.
