Detection of Molecular Hydrogen Emission Associated with LkHα 264
We have detected the emission of molecular hydrogen from a classicalTTauri star, LkHα264 in the v = 1 - 0 S(1) line at 2.122μm. Theline velocity is coincident with the rest velocity of the star. The lineprofile is well reproduced by a model in which the line emanates frommaterial in a Keplerian rotating circumstellar disk. Fluorescence byX-ray ionization and shock excitation due to accretion or a low-velocitywind are considered for the emission mechanism of molecular hydrogen.
