DDO photometry of E-region stars and equatorial standards - II This paper deals with the observations of 72 of McClure's equatorialstandard stars, made with the same photometer and DDO filters as wereused for the E-region stars in Cousins' Paper I in order to standardizethe observations. These observations were reduced in the natural systemand later transformed into McClure's system. Zero-point ties between theequatorial and E-region stars were also needed to standardize the lattersystem. With the exception of C(38-41), our photometry agrees as wellwith McClure's standard system as his own observations do, but both showsome small, apparently systematic, differences which are almostinevitable with a system like the DDO unless the response functions arevery well matched. Comparisons with 17 of Dean's measurements ofE-region stars show good agreement (~2 mmag) for the averagedzero-points, but there are small colour differences affecting C(35-38)and C(38-41) because of differences between the filters and thereduction procedures. This paper also deals with several problems in theDDO photometry that have implications for precision photometry ingeneral.

The Southern Vilnius Photometric System. III. Observations of E and F Harvard Standard Regions, 47 TUC and Some Metal-Deficient Stars The results of photoelectric photometry in the Vilnius system of 101southern stars in the areas E1--E4, E8, E9 and F1 as well as of somemetal deficient stars are presented. Photometrically determined spectraltypes and luminosity classes of these stars are also given.

Vitesses radiales. Catalogue WEB: Wilson Evans Batten. Subtittle: Radial velocities: The Wilson-Evans-Batten catalogue. We give a common version of the two catalogues of Mean Radial Velocitiesby Wilson (1963) and Evans (1978) to which we have added the catalogueof spectroscopic binary systems (Batten et al. 1989). For each star, when possible, we give: 1) an acronym to enter SIMBAD (Set ofIdentifications Measurements and Bibliography for Astronomical Data) ofthe CDS (Centre de Donnees Astronomiques de Strasbourg). 2) the numberHIC of the HIPPARCOS catalogue (Turon 1992). 3) the CCDM number(Catalogue des Composantes des etoiles Doubles et Multiples) byDommanget & Nys (1994). For the cluster stars, a precise study hasbeen done, on the identificator numbers. Numerous remarks point out theproblems we have had to deal with.

Large and kinematically unbiased samples of G- and K-type stars. IV - Evolved stars of the old disk population Modified Stromgren and (R,I) photometry, along with DDO and Genevaphotometry, are presented for a complete sample of evolved old-disk Gand K giants in the Bright Star Catalogue. Stars with ages of between1.5 x 10 to the 9th and 10 to the 10th yr are found to have anear-normal distribution of heavy element abundances, centered on anFe/H abundance ratio of -0.1 dex. The old disk clusters NGC 3680 and IC4651 contain red-straggler young-disk giants that are probablycontemporaries of the blue stragglers in the clusters.

Large and kinematically unbiased samples of G- and K-type stars. II - Observations of evolved stars in the Bright Star sample. III - Evolved young disk stars in the Bright Star sample Four color and RI observations were obtained for a large sample ofG-type and K-type stars in the Bright Star Catalogue. Data are firstpresented for 110 evolved stars. Photometry of evolved young diskpopulation stars have then been calibrated for luminosity, reddening, and metallicity on the basis of results for members of the Hyades andSirius superclusters. New DDO results are given for 120 stars.

Secondary standards for the Stromgren UVBY system Observations of 158 E region stars have been made in the Stromgrensystem, using the 46-cm reflector at Cape Town. They are mostly brighterthan eighth magnitude and are intended for use as secondary standardsfor the four-color system. The E region relative zero points are definedwith a precision of + or - 0.001 mag, and the internal standard errorsof the colors life between + or - 0.001 and + or - 0.002 mag.

UBV photometry of E region standard stars of intermediate brightness Photometry data are given for 335 stars in the nine E regions.Observations were made using a photometer and filters on the 47 cmreflector at Cape Town. The stellar dispersions are summarized. Data arepresented in tabular form.

The Wolf 630 moving group of stars An analysis is made of the probability of collective membership of thestars assigned by Eggen to the Wolf 630 moving group. This probabilityis estimated from the scatter of points in the color-absolute magnitudediagram when compared to the intrinsic scatter observed for M67.Particular attention is paid to the random errors for all the observedand deduced stellar parameters. Results show that either theobservational errors must be about 2.4 times larger than given in theproper motion and radial velocity source catalogues, or the intrinsicscatter in the color-magnitude diagram for the Wolf 630 group must bemuch larger than for M67, or many of the stars considered cannot bemembers.

The open cluster NGC 3532 NGC 3532 is a large cluster in the Carina region of the southern MilkyWay. Observations in the modified Stromgren and H beta systems have beenobtained for 33 stars. (R,I) photometry for the red stars is listed in atable. The HD and CPD numbers for the 33 stars are also listed togetherwith the numbers assigned by Koelbloed. Attention is given to reddeningand luminosity determinations, the red giants in the cluster region, acomparison of computed and cluster luminosities for some of thecalibrating stars, and age considerations. It is pointed out that theusefulness of NGC 2287 and 3532 for testing stellar models is increasedby the existence of a third, bright cluster of intermediate age, NGC6475.

Intermediate-band photometry of late-type stars. V - Calibration of indices Additional data for several stellar groups and clusters are used toimprove a previously determined provisional relation betweenM1 photometric index and the parameter /Fe/H/(solar) as wellas to test the usefulness of the C1 photometric index forluminosity determinations. The data are for 43 members of the Wolf 630group, 14 members of the 61 Cygni group, 30 members of the Arcturusgroup, 14 members of Kapteyn's star groups, and various members of theHyades, 47 Tuc, NGC2420, Omega Cen, and an anonymous group of subdwarfs. It is found that in general the values of C1 only confirm agiant or dwarf classification without yielding accurate luminosities andthat the main contribution of C1 for disk objects is inisolating peculiar stars. The results also indicate that there is aluminosity effect in M1 for the strongest-lined stars andthat the values of M1 become distorted, probably by thepresence of TiO, for R-I larger than about +0.5 magnitude. An array forinterpolating /FE/H/(solar) from (R-I, M1) is constructed byadopting mean values of /Fe/H/(solar) equal to +0.1,-0.35, -0.6, and-1.8 for the Hyades, Wolf 630, Arcturus, and Kapteyn's star groups, respectively.
